Lisa Thies has specialized in children and family photography since 1995. She prefers to work on location, using nature as her background, creating sepia-toned, black and white, or color prints.
Lisa has won and placed in numerous competitions. Her images have been featured in newspapers, magazines, and published in several books, including the Author’s Photo. Her work has also been shown in professional seminars and art shows.
As a portrait artist, Lisa wants her subjects to forget they are being photographed, she gives them little “jobs” to do throughout the session, which brings out true personalities. It is not uncommon to see Lisa crawling on her hands and knees, wading through water at the edge of the beach, or climbing on rocks to get just the right image. Lisa wants her subjects to have fun and enjoy their session, as she celebrates the uniqueness of each family member through photography.
